Day 39 Update: So Many Things!

Rain: Hey everyone! So as of this past Thursday, Samantha and I have been on the road for five weeks. The whole thing has been a blast! The only problem is that we've been so busy running around doing stuff that we  haven't had time to keep up with the blog as much as we would like... a problem that has also been compounded by going through a lot of areas with barely any cell service, let alone easily accessible internet. But rest assured, we have lots of stuff to write about. After we left Portland we drove down south towards California. We spent a lovely evening with our friend Hannah on the farm she has been interning at, stopped back quickly in Grants Pass, finally made it to California (!!!) and visited Samantha's stepsister Sara (and got to see the sunset on the Pacific), drove down Route 1 and camped in the redwoods, went to San Francisco/San Jose to visit my good friend Fatuma and her family, went to Yosemite to see Samantha's friend Mike and hike some awesome trails (but stayed away from the rodents), then camped by a beautiful hot spring in eastern California before getting to Las Vegas last night. So many things! We'll do so retroactive  posts on those things as soon as we get the chance (and it's OK that they're not in chronological order, because as Samantha says Time is Bunk). We are hanging out a bit outside of Las Vegas with our super awesome friend Alen right now and figuring out plans for the Southwest portion of the trip. We were originally going to go to New Orleans and Florida before heading back up the east coast, but given that hurricane season seems to still be going strong we'll most likely be cutting back across the Midwest after Santa Fe instead. Updates will probably be a bit less organized from here on, but that's fine because we're just going where the universe takes us and having a wonderful time a long the way.

Love you all!
