Like a Big Sur

Samantha: Here's a glimpse at Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, Big Sur. On our way out to the park, we stopped at our first California farm stand. I nearly lost my mind, I could hardly contain myself, the fruit and vegetables everywhere! I was like a....well, kid in a candy shop, I guess, except everything here was really good for me. For $11 I bought so much fresh fruit in quality and quantity that would normally have cost upwards of $25 back east. We spent an hour here, easily, then fully loaded, we zipped down to Big Sur. Originally we wanted to take the 4 mile loop Ewoldson trail that would have lead us through all the famed overlooks of the park, including the possibility of spying some California Condors. I was really excited for this, especially since my college biology professor had helped re-introduce these sky giants. However, the trail was closed due to fire damage, boo. So we took a short walk into the woods to a little water fall, saw a banana slug, then turned around and went for that iconic McKay falls view of the sea. One tip - if you can't afford parking, there are many pulls offs along the way out side of the park. this is a place I could happily spend a week in. Maybe I could sleep in one of those great big trees, or a cave, or just curl up with a mountain lion. Yeah. Here are sights, enjoy!

Latest male interest. Sorry, Linnaeus! Take good note of the  Darn Tough wool socks and the Chacos - such a Vermonter.

The bounty!

Yep.

The Sur.
